STERIGENE and its partner Brevetti Angela, a manufacturer of aseptic filling equipment, are pleased to announce a development in its Blow-Fill-Seal process: Production capacity improvement.
Blow-Fill-Seal: Aseptic filling technique
The Blow-Fill-Seal process, patented by our partner Brevetti Angela, enables the container to be manufactured within the filling process equipment, including the aseptic insertion of the stainless steel needle. The Blow-Fill-Seal process enables the forming, filling and sealing of single-dose ampoules with a single piece of process equipment. All while guaranteeing aseptic filling.
For more information, the Blow-Fill-Seal process works as follows. The polyethylene is fed into the Blow-Fill-Seal machine in granular form, heated and then blown into the machine’s moulds, thus becoming the bottom part of the package in the desired shape. Needles are used to fill this new container with the desired solution. The machine blows the polyethylene a second time to form the top of the package and seal the container in a completely aseptic manner in a single-filling process.
